BMW is saying, it’s the first all-electric SAV ( Sports Activity Vehicle ) that combines the best of two worlds: the driving dynamics and premium quality of the BMW X3 and the increased performance and efficiency of the fifth generation BMW eDrive technology.
The iX3 is playing in the mid-size electric SUV segment, the new iX3 undercuts its key segment competition by $20,000 to $30,000, However, unlike most of these SUV’s which provide power to all four wheels, the sole powertrain available with the iX3 employs rear-wheel drive – from a 210kW/400Nm electric motor, good for a 6.8-second dash from zero to 100km/h, and a180km/h top speed.
BMW also is saying, “thanks to an efficient drivetrain concept, aerodynamic design, and a powerful high-voltage battery, the BMW iX3 reaches ranges of up to 460 kilometers. Innovative technologies, such as brake energy recovery, help to extend the range and reduce energy consumption to 18.9–18.5 kWh/100 km.”
The iX3 has a charging capacity of up to 150 kW, and also included with the vehicle is a standard charging kit consisting of the domestic charging cable for charging at home. As well as the charging cable for public charging a 5-year unlimited Chargefox subscription which is one of Australia’s largest nationwide Ultra-Rapid and Fast charging (DC) networks.
Of course, it will come with all of the BMW’s technologies and options such as;
12.3-inch iDrive 7 infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, satellite navigation, and DAB+ digital radio
